If we remember Saul was chasing David around the large rock formation when he got news that the Philistines had invaded Israel and were once again trying to overtake the threshing floor. We left off last Wed. with David realizing that the very men he had came to help from the Philistines attacking their threshing floor, were going to turn him over to Saul, so David leaves to spare their lives and to hide from Saul.
